This is one of those events that you can be like I was there when this happened and saw all the after math that happened. It is a shame that this did happen. I am surprised that someone did not stop them before the cops had to come to stop them. I just don’t know what was going through these peoples minds when they were doing this or planning to do this. I know that they wanted to "explore" something but this is just restarted. I hope that the university does charge the people that did this act. I know that a lot people are not happy about this. But I think that some things happen and it is a great thing to look back on.
To deface a tradition that is well know and long outstanding makes you wonder why people do anything today. This goes to show how tradition and culture have become a thing of the past, and that people do not have as much respect or care anymore. If they want to experiment, push toward the future, or try something new, you think they would figure out another way. Its good to know that the CMU community can come together and all care about a tradition that has been around for years. Even after the students destroyed the Fence, its sad to see students who dont care that this happened, and that they think its a silly tradition. School pride seems to be lacking at CMU unless something tragic happens; itd be nice if the schools could come together and we can be a more cohesive college.
