I think that this is a very good program to have for high school students of today. I am very glad to hear that they are giving an opportuntiy for those who do have the passion and heart to be involved, to be involved. Its also nice to hear that they were able to lead discussions sucessfully, and keep that interest and love alive through their hard work
This is a really interesting program. I wish I had had the opportunity to do something like this. Especially for high school students, because I knew quite a few high school students from schools around where I lived that were very passionate about theatre, who wanted to study theatre in college, and who could've benefitted from learning about the professional theatre world in a setting such as this. This program seems like a very effective and educational way for students to learn more about professional theatre and start to move away from the high school-style of theatre setting.
I think this sounds like a great opportunity for younger kinds to have. As the author herself mentioned sometimes it is easy for younger people to feel like their ideas and comments will not be respected and taken seriously by adults. These kids now know that that if they are passionate about something and have a great deal of knowledge about a subject their opinions will be appreciated and valued as much as anyone else's. In addition having a discussion with the audience is a great way to gain more insight into a show and determine wether the ideas and the story you were trying to communicate to the audience were perceived in the way you were hoping. This is an experience that I did not have in high school and one that I think any theatre artist can greatly benefit from.
