Bomb threat at Chicago 'Jersey Boys'

The Theater Loop: "The Bank of America Theatre in Chicago's Loop was evacuated around 9 p.m. Tuesday night after police found two suspicious boxes with notes in the alley outside the theater.
According to a report from the Tribune's William Lee, who was quoting a police source, one letter read 'this is not a bomb,' and the other note said 'this is not going to end good.'"

I think this goes to show that no industry is safe from the threats of violence these days. To disrupt a performance is pointless, and is only done for the amusement of people with a messed up mind.

What I do find comforting is how prepared ushers are to evacuate a theater in a situation like that. To be able to empty that building in 10 minutes is impressive and should be commended.

Lastly, I think the worst aspect about an event like this is how the actors had to evacuate in costume. After everything that is going on, the illusion of the show is ruined, but to see the actors in costume, just as scared as the audience, would change my perspective of that show forever. I could not longer look at them as superhuman.
