'The Toxic Avenger' - Geek Turns Superhero to Save a Town
NYTimes.com: "What’s big and green and sings pop-rock anthems while tearing off the limbs of evildoers? The Toxic Avenger, the mutant superhero born of a shlocky cult movie who has now been given the supreme honor of inspiring a stage musical."

Once again, I see no reason why cult-status media and theater cannot be integrated. Look at Rocky Horry - it started as a stage musical and still enjoys a culture created around it (and profits) to this day.
The review seems mixed, if generally positive, and I love productions with this level of camp.
