Actors' Equity buys a building in Chicago, will expand presence here

The Theater Loop - News from America's hottest theater city: "Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States, has purchased its own building on Randolph Street just a block or two west of the core of Chicago's theater district."

I find it interesting that while a lot of theatre is suffering in today's economy, Actor's Equity has taken advantage of it by using buying itself a building in cash in the rough economic times.

I agree with Brooke. It gives the community some hope also that a large staple of the theatre community is willing to put stake in property at this time. Also, it should be great news for the Chicago scene as they continue to expand and grow.
