I think that this is a great idea. It will give students here in Pittsburgh to really explore the art of film, as they might have not been able to do so before. They will be able to get hands on experience, with hopefully top notch artists in the near future.
It's nice that there will be a large film complex here now. If the revenue projections are correct it should be quite profitable as well. Internship program anyone?
Albuquerque, NM - my hometown - is actually has third largest movie industry in the United States. It's still tiny, but most film industries are outside of NY and LA. The development of studios there led to a huge number of educational programs and opportunities, from training film techs to interdisciplinary research with green screen technology. I think such an entertainment market is hugely beneficial and appropriate to Pittsburgh, especially when there are already resources such as the ETC and our fantastic drama program to support them.
