Dolly Parton, Working '9 To 5' To Get To Broadway
NPR: "Over the past decade or so, Broadway has raided Hollywood to find material for new musicals. Some have become enormous hits, like The Producers and Hairspray. Some have vanished without a trace — witness Urban Cowboy and Saturday Night Fever."

These shows really bother me. The shows that take a movie and hit song and then attempt to slosh around enough ballads and 'up tempo' numbers to form what they would like to call a show.
The 'un-original' musical has taken Broadway for a nasty spin in recent years. Rarely do I leave one of these shows without feeling somehow unfulfilled both in the development of characters and in the development of the show. It always turns out stale.
Lets just hope that this trend dies soon.
For some reason I really do like Dolly Parton. How can you not. From what I've heard about 9:5 before this article, it could actually be a fairly good show. The problem is making sure that people that know the movie, can still enjoy the performance.
