Procrastination Can Be Your Ally

Whenever I find myself procrastinating watching my favorite tv show instead of doing work I noramlly think myself as lazy. But sometimes its not really procrastination, just that we need a break from all this work. Even though you are avioding your work by watching that new episode you missed last night I find that after it I am more willing to do the work I know needs done. In some ways it is like a small vacation from work and you come back ready for it.I find that my work is much better after I procrastinated for awhile instead of forcing myself to get the work done.
This is so relevant to me. Yes, I do procrastinate, but this does not mean I put it to waste. I am the type that needs to get from one thing to another without any like just sit back time. I spend a lot of my time online but I look up things that interest me like youtube. Such as this blog comment, after reading the article about the ballerinas being ignored, I watched ballet pieces on youtube, it was amazing to me how they train their bodies to glide with such glamor. So yea procrastination stinks on the deadlines but it definitely bring out things the freedom in what you would rather be doing.
I hate the feeling of procrastination. When I get into those funks, all I think of is how much I am not doing at the moment, which makes me sink even more into a funk, until I either do the work, fall asleep, or eat a carton of ice cream. I'm not sire if I am able to take restful breaks if I have those kinds of things on my mind. Saving things for last minuet ensures its completion, but also extrema tiredness and lots of junk food
I like the idea that procrastination helps you prioritize your "To-do" list, and therefore can be used to your advantage. It's nice to read an article that isn't seething acid towards procrastination, but instead examines why we would procrastinate on a subconscious level. Of course all of these practices should be done with moderation, but I felt like the article really leaves a lot of its advice for individuals to determine for themselves.
As a college student, I find myself putting stuff off for a while. However, sometimes, when I put off doing my school work, I end up getting a lot of other tasks done that are important, like making arrangements for traveling home, or getting a summer job. While procrastination can be useful in this case, it becomes more harmful when I stay up half the night finishing an assignment, and then the next day I spend more time procrastinating (doing something recreational) because I feel too tired to do the work I should be doing.
Even though many people spend their time procrastinating, I find I work much better under the stress and deadline that is looming over my head. It allows me to know i have to finish something and give it my all for the time I have remaining. I would like to get out of this habit and i have found that if it is something fun or something i like to do, i will get it done earlier rather than later.
