'Dirty' to Dance in L.A.
Backstage: "Dirty Dancing -- The Classic Story on Stage will make its West Coast premiere at Hollywood's Pantages Theatre in May 2009. The musical, based on the 1987 film starring Patrick Swayze, has been performed in Australia, Germany, the U.K., Canada, and Holland, and will make its U.S. debut at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre in September 2008."

This has been playing on the West End for quite awhile now and I think the only reason why its finally come to the USA is because they see the need for movie-base musicals! Sorry, still a little upset that the big show on Broadway are just remakes. Anyway, it's have a successfull run over in London so who knows, it may be pretty decent. Billy Elliot is also making its way here. Again, London's pouncing on the opportunity of Broadway's latest fad.
