‘Candide’ the Opera (or Is It a Musical?) Returns to City Opera
New York Times: "In the annals of works that have had complicated births and undergone much revision, Leonard Bernstein’s “Candide” is a special case. The original collaboration between Bernstein and Lillian Hellman went through several variations from 1954 to 1956, with other collaborators (including, at one point, Dorothy Parker) dropping in and out along the way."
