A Chorus Line
New York Times: "The dancers and actors who participated in the 1974 recordings and workshops that were the foundation of “A Chorus Line” have been granted a financial interest in the current Broadway revival, according to a joint statement released on Friday by those artists and the beneficiaries of the estate of Michael Bennett, the musical’s creator and original director."

It's only fair that the original dancers from A Chorus Line get a share of the profits. After all, it's their stories that get told night after night and their words portrayed on stage. I'm glad the new Broadway production is actually paying the dancers for turning their lives into art.
I think it's a good thing that the people who helped make Chorus Line possible get a fair share. It's their life story, after all. It reminds me of the writer's situation right now, and the vid they put on youtube that talked about how the writer's who did I Love Lucy don't see any money from it anymore. It makes me feel like maybe there are some honorable people out there, still, that aren't out to cheat everyone and everything.
Well I'm glad that these artists and dancers are getting paid for the revival. Even though it is years after their contract and the original show it is still their story and it came from their interviews. I just really like the idea of how this show was formed. That it actually is about the life of show business and the people in it what better way to understand that then to ask those who know best.
