Can we survive another strike?

News: Show Business Weekly: "With the Writers Guild of America strike dominating the headlines, leaders at the Screen Actors Guild are haunted by the increasing possibility that the protracted work stoppage could have a negative impact on upcoming SAG negotiations. The actors union, whose contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers expires June 30, is preparing for what could be a fierce battle to secure a fair deal for its 120,000 members."

I would not be surprised if there is another strike to come. For one, the Writer's Strike along with the Stagehand's Strike of last fall have paved the way for organized workers to demand more. On one hand they have brought attention to issues that needed it, such as the under compensation of the writers and the under working of stagehands. But at the same time i feel that many other unions are starting to think of what they can get in the wake of these two previous ones. it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the writer's strike plays out, and also if the SAG members will begin to ask for more.
