i just hope both sides resolve this problem before thanksgiving holiday season. Then peter can go watch the shows in new york! haha
I thought it wouldn't even come to having a strike, now they are negotiating again and both sides seem pretty stubborn so who knows what will happen.
I am quite surprised that the srike is lasting this long. Especially on the cusp of the holiday season, I'm shocked that no agreement has been made between the two sides. I thought that if this strike ever happened in the first place, it couldn't last much longer than the musicians strike, it just wouldn't be logical, profit wise, for the league or the city. But 10 days now and entering Thanksgiving week and no particular end in sight.
I'm shocked too. I can't understand why it came to this, exactly. From the way I see it, the stagehands should give up all the overtime pay, etc., the producers don't want to give in exchange for getting the kind of job allocation they want and deserve. I want to look up and compare th musicians strike now: I know nothing except that it happened. I'll be interested to see the overall damage this does to the city when its all over. It would open some eyes in terms of how Broadway functions economically. In the same way, I think the strike has done some good publicity for the union, since the general public will be aware of what they do and just how important their jobs are, a fact over looked by a lot of people.
