This article, though not really offering any new information, does spark one interesting fact.
Disney is not a member of the League of Theatre Owners and Producers. Though they are affected in the strike as their productions are in League operated theatres, this fact just goes to show that Disney truly stands in a 'league' (pun intended) of their own. By not joining the organization of all the other people doing what they are doing too, they are placing themselves as an elitist, individualist corporate entity. For the same reason that Young Frankenstein not sharing their weekly gross with the league, it aggravates me that the solidarity of producing Broadway shows is dieing away.
i know this doesnt really directly have anything to do with the article but as i was reading this i was wondering how this would affect the tony's this year. when is the cut off date to for this year? not that i expect little mermaid to be winning all that much but it would be interesting if the strike caused the opening to miss this years cut off.
