Walking With Dinosaurs

New York Times: "There is really no such thing as “fun for the whole family.” This was an epiphany that Bruce Mactaggart had while watching a children’s show with his kids, but that he refused to accept."

I'd be interested to see this show. I didn't really like how the creator was made out to be a theatrical genius. I could just as easily go to Walt Disney World, pay the same amount as I would for a ticket to this show, and spend an entire day looking at life like animatronics. But hey, that's just me. In the theatre, we're always fighting costs of what we can provide versus what people can get from alternate entertainment sources such as film etc. It's a tough life. *sigh*

I'm really interested in just seeing all of the equipment itself more than the show. If it truly is the "beauty contest" that the writer described, I would just really enjoy being backstage to see just how much organization it takes to make this show run. But I definitely agree with Brian in that I wouldn't go so far as to describe the creator as some sort of theatrical genius just because of the magnitude of this show.
