Financial boost for NYC-area theaters

Casting - News: Show Business Weekly: "Theaters in New York City and Connecticut are among the recipients of grants this year from the National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s (NAMT) Producer-Writer Initiative program. Each year, the program awards funds to five NAMT-member theaters with the goal of developing new works in musical theater. The grants help subsidize writers’ residencies as they draft their scripts."

These kinds of financial support is just essential in encouraging the theatrical society. It brings so much more freedom and space to play around with for the directors, actors, designers. Often times, the city would support the classic theater, but not the musical theater. It is good to hear these theaters are being supported.
