‘Chorus Line’ Returns, as Do Regrets Over Life Stories Signed Away
New York Times: "The dancers who told their stories that night sold them to Mr. Bennett for $1 each. And though Mr. Bennett later arranged for them to receive royalties from the show — at times up to $10,000 a year — they have always questioned whether they have been fairly compensated and acknowledged."

I feel for these dancers. Knowing that they struggled and trained years to get to the point where their careers we on brink, and some made it and other did not. I was amazed that not all the dancers from the tapes were not in the original production. I would assume that if the dancer is good enough to have a story to put on stage, the dancer should be the best one to tell that story. It was stated that actors ask why and dancers just do. This mentality is very true, yet everyone is always advised not to sign anything until you read it and sleep on it. Even it they did not get the profits, they have the glory. It is their story, their legacy, and their life being told to millions of people. To me, that would be worth something.
