Stage Review: Urban adaptation puts Alice into a darker Wonderland

Post Gazette: "The more you know about the Lewis Carroll classics 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Through the Looking Glass,' the more you'll get out of Pittsburgher James Michael Shoberg's dark, contemporary stage adaptation."

This sounds extremely intriguing. I have found myself to be somewhat opposed to the idea of recycled ideas and odd interpretations of revived material. Perhaps that is because I have seen it done so poorly in the past. My attitude changed drastically when I saw the revival of Sweeney Todd on Broadway. The production had a completely different feel from the original, which gave it its own identity. I will have to go see this one as well--it sounds too interesting to miss!
