The Scanning of the Fittest

Wired News: "A crop of the 3-D, body-measuring devices are replacing outdated sizing paradigms, and they're making shopping for clothes that are inconsistently sized and unrealistically fitted a little less painful."

"In fact, the hourglass figure almost doesn’t exist in women above a size 8."

thats a lie, because most women under a size 8 are too skinny to have the curves necessary for an hourglass figure.

i can never find clothing that fits me because women's clothing isnt made to fit an hour glass figure. its made to fit people with no boobs and no hips.

i always found it ironic that hip hugger jeans are most flattering on women without hips rather then on women with hips.

however being able to have custom made clothing would be a very nice thing.

It would be nice to have clothes that fit everywhere they're supposed to (any woman who's gone to buy jeans knows what I'm talking about), but somehow I think this entire process will be very expensive and probably only avaliable to women who can afford, on a daily basis, custom-fitted clothing.

This sounds like an excellent idea. I can't count the times I go shopping and can't find anything that fits me the right way, especially pants. If there was a way of buying the custom fit clothing that would be generated by these scanners, without having to pay more than for clothes that are already in the stores, that would be fantastic. The only thing is, I higly doubt the new technology will not drastically affect the price. I'll have to wait and see until it actually is in a store and I can see for myself.
