Rhode Island club owners, no contest to involuntary manslaughter

eitb24: "The owners of a nightclub where a 2003 fire killed 100 people will plead no contest to involuntary manslaughter charges, and only one will have to serve prison time, their lawyer said. Victims' relatives were outraged."

The fact that so many people were killed and injured in this tragic event is probably something that I will never be able to wrap my head around. It is a travesty, but I think it relates to a discussion we had in class a few weeks ago. While we sometimes get frustrated by the rules and regulations that are in place and effect us, they are there for a reason. The small inconvenience that we face is well worth it when you consider the possible outcome.
