City Theatre's new play a quest for love

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Playwright Cori Thomas hopes audiences will find 'When January Feels Like Summer' as surprising as she did.
'I would like for people to start the play thinking it will be one thing and then discover it's something else,' Thomas says.
'When January Feels Like Summer' is having its world premiere production through April 11 at City Theatre on the South Side."

City Theatre continues to astound me with all of the out-there themes its shows revolve around this season. First Blackbird and its dark sexual undertones, then the Clockmaker and all of the insanity and disjointedness that followed that production, and now a show about Indian culture and transgender issues.

I am very interested to see what the reviewers have to say about this piece; transgendered people and their rights are still very unaccepted by society at large, and I can imagine this being a very touchy subject for the more conservative writers out there.
