Review: An Untitled New Play By Justin Timberlake at City Theatre

onStage Pittsburgh: There’s no doubt that a great deal of talent, heart and commitment is on display, both on stage and behind the scenes, of City Theatre and Pittsburgh CLO’s co-production of the world-premiere musical, An Untitled New Play By Justin Timberlake, with book, music, and lyrics by Matt Schatz, now playing at City Theatre.

This is a great article. It made me want to go see the show, even though it pointed out some of its shortcomings. I also thought that the description of the pot was helpful but also didn’t give too much away. I have been having a hankering to see some live theatrical comedy. I feel that the political aspect of theatre is seriously important and there is a lot going wrong in the world that needs to be talked about. But to that end, I feel that there just hasn’t been as much comedy produced at lower levels because everyone is trying to say something about what is going on in the world and how they feel about it. I think it’s important but maybe there could be some political statements made in some comedic pieces. I am starving for some humor and some good laughs in this depressing world and I think the theatre would be a good place to start.
