I thought I saw something about the inflatable bunnies somewhere else but I couldn’t remember. I’m glad that I found this article because I had no idea that they were coming to Pittsburgh! The art installation seems a little bit random to be in Pittsburgh but I guess what art installation isn’t random. I love the symbolism of deflating them every night. I once watched a documentary about invasive species in Australia. Their main focus was the toads but I remember learning about the rabbits as well. I think that bringing awareness to the ignorance of introducing new species to a continent is really important. There is a certain responsibility that we have in this day and age of technology and easy travel. I also think that it is cool that all of these festivities will be free. This makes for a diverse and equitable event and I hope that I can see all of it in Pittsburgh for New Years.
