I listened to Mary Testa say there are two groups of people the lovers and the haters of Oklahoma! I love Oklahoma will all my heart. When I first saw the production photos of this I could hear Rodgers and Hammerstein rolling in their graves in the distance. I was like if you update the show can you even do Oklahoma because if you set it later and you know Oklahoma is already a state you cannot do the story anymore. Then I heard that the libretto has not been changed which settled my heart but I also am just not a fan of the total stripping of the show. I realize this is still in vogue, made famous by the Lupone Sweeney Todd where they all pay their instruments, but I am just not a fan of it in any sense. However I loved the casting choices and interpretations of the characters from the clips I have seen.
