Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench

PTR: At the 2018 New Product Symposium, Milwaukee announced that they’ve been working on a cordless solution for high-torque impact wrench users. They predicted its launch in Q4 of 2018, but by the time Q4 actually rolled around, Milwaukee postponed the release for more testing. Well, that day is drawing closer and the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench is slated for a June 2019 release.

As I have written about many times on this page, I am always interested in reading about and testing new tools from all different brands. This is something that I have done a lot of, and for this reason, own power tools from many different brands. As I am sure I've expressed before, I would say my current favorite consumer power tool brand is Milwaulkee. I currently own a lot of Milwaulkees M18 tools and M12 tools. Recently, I started swapping out my M18 tools for the M18 Fuel series and I am absolutely in love. This new high torque impact wrench looks like a great addition to the M18 Fuel lineup, however, it is absolutely not consumer grade. This tool is meant for industry professionals who need something with such high torque. The biggest thing that gives this away is one hundred percent the price. At 700 dollars, this tool is not for your average homeowner.

I love getting to live in a world where there are still people that get excited over new tools. It is easy to get stuck in a cycle where what you have works and you never get to try new tools that companies have to offer. Milwaukee’s new high torque impact wrench is particularly interesting because of the size of the tool and the power it has, all while being cordless. Pro Tools mentions that this new impact wrench is also fitted with the One Key battery. This battery is something that was introduced to me fairly recently and I must say that the ability to have different power and torque modes on the drill is a really compelling idea. Additionally, the safety aspect where the tool can be disabled from someones phone really makes me feel better on a job site where tools can get stolen or swapped easily.
