PLASA 2017 - Audio Report

LightSoundJournal.com: All thing’s considered, it was a relatively quiet (no pun intended) year for Audio at this year’s PLASA Show. In our opinion at least, Lighting fixtures seemed to steal the limelight (no more, I promise), albeit similarly with no real ground-breaking new product releases. You only need look at the nominations for this year’s PLASA Innovation Awards to see this pattern reflected.

Admittedly, I know very little about sound. This article was definitely focused towards people in the sound business and would be very helpful to those majoring in sound, but it was still an OK read. Bose was one of the companies I am familiar with and so hearing that Bose technology has pushed forward to make even bigger sound is incredibly interesting. Although I understand next to nothing about the technology behind sound, I can appreciate the fact that sound is incredibly important, often hard to get right, but also one of the most underappreciated forms within the theater business. Sound companies, however, are still pushing forward and helping sound designers and technicians put forth better work which is phenomenal for the industry.
