Which Drill Bit To Use
thegarage.jalopnik.com: You know a drill really only has one job–make a hole. But what you’re making a hole in dictates the type of drill and bit you actually need. Watch my favorite Canadian mechanic break down the which, what and why of every drill type you’ll ever mess with and some you’ve probably never seen.

Honestly I have no words for this video, its pretty crazy. But I have to use at least 150 so I’ll give it a go. This guy seems absolutely bonkers, but I really like it, one of the most amusing 30 minute videos about drill bits I’ve ever seen. He threw in some “technical terminology” I had never heard of and I did learn about some bits and techniques I didn’t even know I didn’t know about. I went to look at this guys channel and as expected it is full of gold. A lot of crazy stuff but some cool stuff. I think I may add this guy to my list of you tube tool/woodworking channels I watch. But back to the actual content of the video…I think a lot of people overestimate what a drill bit can do and for that reason may use the wrong drill bits for the material they are using. I like that this video, as crazy as the guy is, does a great job of explaining what it takes to make nice holes and entertains at the same time.
First off this guy knows how to add some hysterics to the video. I mean some of the technical jargon he uses is a little on the raw side, but it is an interesting video with some good information. I had never heard of using dead tree carcasses before. It’s something I might have to use a little often now. He has a way of telling you what is not the way to do something, or by using a different process by telling you in a discrete way what the wrong way to go about doing something. While sometimes it is difficult to keep up with someone who is a professional and uses big technical terms, by having this guy use the technical terms but keep it simple to the point that you can understand it, helps anyone who is starting to get into using tools and materials like these. It is only a simple demonstration, but something simple can end up going a long way.
