Sudbury.com: Until recently, basic benefits and recognized overtime were not a reality for most film crew members in Northern Ontario.

Film technicians – including workers with the electrical, transportation , hair and makeup, wardrobe, sets and props, construction and special effects departments – would sign a contract with a local production and get paid a daily rate that wouldn't change based on hours worked.
