Stylebook snapshot: Carnegie Mellon professor brings design experience from stage, screen to classroom

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: What do the movies “The Walk,” “Steve Jobs” and “Slumdog Millionaire” have in common? They all feature the work of designer Suttirat Larlarb, an associate professor of costume design in the School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University.

Her work doesn’t stop on the big screen. She’s also contributed to projects on Broadway, and was the only non-British person on the creative team for the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony. But no matter the project, her mission is the same: design pieces that authentically enhance characters and the worlds they live in.
