As someone who has been to Berlin, and seen how much this conflict (The Cold War) radically effected the way the city evolved and developed, I am thoroughly interested in seeing how this film comes out. I’m disappointed that I haven’t really seen a cold war play come through CMU, I can definitely see a design team here having a lot of fun trying to figure out how to represent the themes of the conflict in a way that wasn’t quite as literal of a presentation as would appear in a film about the conflict. I’m not suggesting that we take this movie and turn it into a play, but I do think that the opportunity would be an interesting one, especially considering the types of innovations and liberties this school pushes when it approaches creative storytelling. Though there is no doubt that a CMU design would be different from the design of this film, the process of storytelling seems to me to be very similar. I’d like to see us have a go at it.

I am going to start off by saying that I have not seen this move YET, yet is a big keyword in that sentence. After watching the trailer for the second time I am now trying to find time in my schedule to see this thing. This movie has so much potential to be a fantastic in my book. Tom Hanks has always been high on my list of favorite actors and to have such a reputable designer this is really a movie that everyone should see. It is always hard to get a good idea from a trailer, but I can honestly say that as far as trailers go this one is pretty rockin. I really get a good idea for what is going I didn’t really even have to read the description of it afterward. I am always looking for a new movie like this one that I can actually manage sitting through. All that’s really left to say is nice job cast and crew of “Bridge of Spies”.
