Now knowing most of these people and experiences, it has given me a whole new perspective on themed entertainment. After reading the list of the winners I'm very happy with the results. The New world trade center observatory was amazing. I went during the TEA academy days in NYC and was blown away by the whole experience. We went into it with not only the art director/creative head but also the owner of the entire skyscraper. we basically had fast passes all the way through. the elevator ride up was just as cool at view because it told the story of new york over time(i wont spoil it and say what happens). The technology behind it also blew us all away, it only takes 47 seconds to get from the bottom floor to the top floor...it uses magnets to cause no friction and shoot you to the top. It is the fastest elevator in the western hemisphere. The reveal of the view was amazing as well, you stand in a theatre that takes you around new york using a collage of images and sounds, then you see the view as the projection surfaces disappear. you are 1776 feet in the air and it is amazing, we went to the presidential room where we had a whole floor to ourselves above where most visitors are. The fact that this experience got some of the highest honors at the TEA awards this year comes to no surprise and I encourage anyone to go to the winning experiences in addition to the new world trade observatory.
