Festool Sys-AZ Systainer Drawers
ToolGuyd: Festool’s T-Loc Systainers are great modular tool cases, and I would outfit my storage space with more of them if not for the high cost of SysPort drawer cabinets. SysPorts are even more expensive when you have to buy more drawers than the 5 they come with in order to fit additional smaller Systainers into the cabinets.

Part of what you are investing in when you purchase a Festool product is the packaging. Just the other day I was setting up our Festool Shop Vac to rout the front edge of the Trojan Women rake, and realized the top of the vac is designed to accept the router case. The case and vac can travel together and it makes a perennially annoying job like flush trimming maso just a little more bearable. Our tool room could greatly benefit from this shelving system. Currently, our Festool boxes are in a back corner cubby, essentially just on the floor, and none of the features designed into the cases themselves are utilized. When we get around to redesigning the tool room, something I think should be done every 5 years at the least, it might make sense to invest in a 5 pack of these to make full use of our Festool investment.
Now this is what I am talking about. This is a system that can be installed into a road box and allow for combining several of these systainer systems in a way that doesn't hinder any of their usage. My first question is, is there a way to also install the front drawer systainers? Truely just curious but I could easily see using this system and getting some customizes me systainer containers so I can have both my tools and custom setups ready and able to be removed from a larger storage system that in a situation where I cant get my road box into the room I can easily carry what I need. My main concern though for installing these into a road box instead of a permanent cabinet is how quickly does a mobile box become front loaded from using these. That and I now want to do some more hands on research on to see how much room there is for customize-ability there is in systainer systems that are already set up for particular tools.
