Freakish Weather, Isaac Play Havoc with Late Summer Productions
PLSN: Wind and rain from Hurricane Isaac forced a wave of concert cancellations in late August and over Labor Day weekend as remnants of the storm moved inland. Although 2012 wasn’t the worst year on record for named storms from the Atlantic — thanks partly to better infrastructure, Isaac wasn’t nearly as costly as Katrina in 2005 — freakish weather has cancelled a number of events this summer.

I have always wanted a storm named after me, and I even got a big one! As sad as the deaths and cancellations are, I find it a little entertaining that Isaac is having an impact on the people in my chosen field. I hope that in the end Isaac does not do to much damage for the show must go on, but I am glad to be having such a huge impact on the theater world.
