Translations: The job of the future

What a cool article. The author makes a great point. Not only in defending the arts to outside people, but also just in what we do we are translators. Theater especially is translation, it is taking a script that is in one language and translating it into the language of theatricality. Okay sorry that is a little bit cheesy but even having actors just read a script is different then reading it yourself in your head. Anything that you put on stage says something, and what it says should be aiding to your translation from script. If telling the story a different way helps convey what the story is about then you should do it. We are trying to boil stories down to their basic parts and to convey those basic parts to our audience.
