Springboard NYC 2012 Now Accepting Applications
Stage Directions: The American Theatre Wing is now accepting applications for their 2012 SpringboardNYC program.
The program accepts 35 junior or senior college students and prepares them for life in the theatre by letting them attend workshops and training sessions taught by industry professionals. They also provide financial aid and scholarships for those who might not be able to afford it on their own.

This sounds like a wonderful opportunity for an actor starting out in New York. To be able to be mentored by some of Broadways finest is a dream come true. A lot of people starting out don't get the training or education needed to be marketable in New York so for people to have this available to them is great. It's unfortunate that they only take 35 people. I'm sure it is very difficult to be one of the chosen ones. I don't know the cost of something like this but since scholarships are available it seems like a no brainer to go for it and see what happens.
