Equity, Talbert make a deal
Variety: Legit thesps' union Actors Equity Assn. and David E. Talbert Presents, the company that has produced a string of stage offerings on the urban circuit, have made a deal for a labor contract that is Equity's first in that market. Urban circuit shows, which cater primarily to African-American auds, have traditionally hit the road in non-Equity tours.

I think it is really great that the Urban Broadway Contract is going out with Urban Circuit Shows because it will enable them to play more union houses and become better known outside their current audience. And hopefully this will enable other types of tours to start to expand and become better known as well.
