There are a lot of people that I have met who have been stage managers at BG Williamsburg and they seem to be pretty successful. A few people at Cirque were from there as well as some who now work at Blue Man. Im assuming that the atmospheres must be some what similar, or at least appealing to larger employers.
This does seem like a good opportunity if you're interested in going into commercial entertainment. Busch Gardens is a place that really likes to churn out the shows, which means that it would be a great work environment for those interested in fast-paced, get the job done type of work. What I'm interested in knowing is if they hire stage management interns for the season as well. I did some poking around, but couldn't find much. Yes, stage managers are in high demand these days, but its hard to find opportunities in the larger venues when you are just getting your foot into the scene.
