» 10 Cove Cutting Jigs, How To’s and Calculators
ToolCrib.com Blog: "Does anyone cut coves on their table saws anymore? Something tells me it’s a dying art – Popular Mechanics from the 50’s and 60’s wrote about it several times but it’s dropped off since then in the woodworking and handyman mags."

I've seen these jigs discussed in a few magazine articles and always wished for an opportunity to try them out. To me, this sort of thing is a good reminder of the versatility of a table saw; it's easy to forget that they are good for things other than big rip cuts. Whenever I see things like this, or crosscut sleds or finger joints done on a table saw, I'm reminded that a lot of things that we use other tools for really can be done with fewer - a thought that's especially encouraging as someone who'd like to have a home shop in the future. When there's time for jigs or more careful setups, it becomes possible to do more with less.
