CBC News: "RIM co-founder Mike Lazaridis and his wife, Ophelia, have pledged $5 million to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, the theatre festival announced Monday."

I think that this is a very generous offer, and a great opportunity to start motivating others to give as well. Five million dollars is a lot of money that can be put to great use at the Festival. But I like that they are not giving all of it to them at once. Withholding the rest of the donation is a risky but optimistic view to try and get others to give as well, and it is so worth a shot. I hope that it works and will catch on for the future. I also found it a little comical when I read that Mrs Lazaridis' name was Ophelia, I just find it appropriate seeing as how she is giving to the Shakespeare Festival.
