Google Wave Versus the Rest, Feature by Feature

Lifehacker: "We got a great response to last week's frequently asked questions about Google Wave, and decided it's worth expanding further on the differences between Wave and the current crop of web-based collaboration offerings."

The person who commented saying that the chart doesn't really work pretty much nailed it. While you can more or less compare two software packages to see which one (or both, or neither) has certain features trying to do the same thing between a software package and email in general reminds me of Car and Driver magazine several years ago when they did one of their usual car comparisons between a Chevy Beretta and a Beretta 9mm. At least when they did it they did it as a joke, I'm afraid that this author wasn't intending the comparison that way.

Everything I've been hearing about wave is that it's "email, if it were invented now". While this is true, and Wave seems pretty cool, email was around first. We're having a hard enough time getting half the population to understand that - now try to convert everyone over to wave. I'd love to use this for collaboration on projects, but there's the issue of the learning curve and breach from convention that must first be overcome.
