Political theatre moves to the stages
TheStar.com: "Heads of government who show their disdain for artists, do so at their own peril. On stage this week, election fever engages writers and performers who will have no trouble outdancing the political rhetoric spewing forth as Oct. 14 draws near."

It makes sense that with all the increasing political drama, there will be an increased response to those events. I like how these events are so simple, with just a microphone. It gives it a very urgent feeling, like we didn't have time to put on a huge production, we just need to get our message out to yall.
There was a group in Charlotte that did something similar to this before the last election; that is, simple one mic political dramas. They did these really neat assortments of monologues and short scenes based off of letters people had written the President. Some of the letters were quite raw and downright depressing! Of course, since our letters rarely even get seen by the President (surprise!), it was rather disheartening to see what small "Thank you" notes were sent back to the original sender.
I'm glad people are taking voting and this election so seriously. It's always a little sad to see how little of an outcome there is from voters, when it's such a unique opportunity we have.
