Criss Angel believes that you will too
Los Angeles Times: "Minutes after the curtain had fallen on the debut performance last month of 'Criss Angel: Believe,' his Cirque du Soleil-produced multimedia magic extravaganza that is scheduled to run for the next 10 years at the Luxor Hotel & Casino, the magician settled into a sofa in his Olde English-meets-goth-decorated dressing room and tried to make sense of his jumble of emotions."

I found these tips to be very helpful and as usual I do a lot of these things just not FULL-TIME. Over the summer I developed a lot of this keeping my desk clear habit but also this year working in the PTM office. Because of these kinds of tips it has become really easy for me to work in a lot of different spaces and not have to spend 20 minutes orienting myself because I have a plan and set-up that works everywhere.
The above comment should have read...
I can imagine that doing such a large scale show would be frustrating the the form of perfectionism. When there is so much money and time involved it's easy to think everything can be right the first time but the reality is that nothing's ever perfect the first time.. not even for Cirque. I don't particularly like Criss Angel but I think his assessment of such a huge show isn't justified by others in the same position.
Well that sucks for him I guess. he should have practiced more. Honestly though even though he pulls of flawless magic tricks on the show with the assistance of a little editing most people don't believe it anyway. He shouldn't get upset and maybe he wouldn't have gotten so upset but he said this act would "redefine "what magic is and can be."). And even though some people saw the tricks goof up I'm sure they aren't going to broadcast how they are done all over the internet (hopefully)
Was anyone else a bit daunted by the TEN YEAR RUN that the show is scheduled to have in Las Vegas?! Nevermind the technical difficulties and inside politics, these things will be figured out in time. But a 10 year commitment to a show, with a single person as the star attraction, is something I would think twice (thrice, 6, 8, 10 times) about. The article states that he will perform 2 shows a day, 5 days a week. Damn. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a double to cover some of those shows for him. And let's not talk about the technical side of things... Wow.
there is no way he is going to be able to make every show 5 days a week for a 10 year run. This also does not sound like the kind of show I would expect form cirque.
I was also shocked that anyone would even consider doing this sort of show for 10 years. Talk about a show looking over-rehearsed!
Personally, I don't really like Cris Angel, simply because he mainly resorts to magic via television--which is almost as bad as searching for ghosts and capturing them on film to show on TV like shows on late at night on the Discovery channel. The idea of him doing a live show is intriguing; I'd like to see how he does live like I would think a magician should perform. It's too bad for any show to start out so poorly, but hopefully it can work out for everyone involved.
10 years though? Yeah, I think not.
Yea, I definately agree that there's a huge disconnect with whats going on with that show between everyone involved. The end of the article made it sound like people were starting to take sides.
