Stage Review: New Works week 3
Post Gazette: "Week 3 of the Pittsburgh New Works Festival brings something I've never seen at the festival before -- a group of thematically linked plays. All have to do with death and, more specifically, how love saves those who are left behind. More impressively, all are smart and well-written."

I have never seen any of the Pittsburgh Festival New Works shows, but I find it surprising that the shows have not been linked by theme before. I would think that linking each show by theme would encourage audience members to see every show during the week. It provides a much richer theatre experience for an audience member. The one difficulty is finding the right link between plays. When plays are placed in such a way that the emotions of the audience members arc- then it can be a very powerful experience.
