American Dreams | Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is celebrating the Year of a Million Dreams in 2008 | Sept 2008
LiveDesign: "Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is celebrating the “Year of a Million Dreams” in 2008. Appropriately, the audio and lighting engineers at EPCOT's America Gardens Theatre think the venue's new systems are a “dream.”"

Man, they really stepped it up with this upgrade: fiber optic network, brand new line arrays and top of the line mixers. I know Disney has the money, they also have the connections to practically set up any system they choose. I didn't think the equipment was of that poor quality when I visited this past May.
Disney has always held a special place for me. I feel it is one of the main reasons for why I am interested in design. I was able to visit this year and remind myself about the magic that can be created with lighting/fireworks/sound etc. From a technological standpoint I am constantly amazed with how Disney is able to keep their shows current with the latest and greatest in gear, but also stay true to the designers original visions. They definitely have experience with longevity of show runs.
I have been to the AmGard Theater many times and have seen the changes taking place throughout some of the life of the space. Their concert series that they do are always interesting and they always sound amazing as well as look stunning. The equipment upgrade is quite extensive and it has been installed for some time now and it has been apparent in the past few productions that I have seen in the space.
