I wish the article had mentioned what exactly she was doing when she fell from the ladder. There's not really a lesson to be had in this unless we know a few more details. And I wonder if it's an OSHA thing to have an ambulance called, especially since it doesn't sound like her injuries were very severe. I could be wrong, though. Maybe we'll hear more about it later.
Yeah, this article really had no useful information in it. A Woman fell off a ladder at Carnival. If they didn't want to give us any information then they should have just not bothered to write an article.
The fact that this happened is not surprising seeing all the stupid things people (mostly students) where doing while setting up and taking down all the booths. I am actually surprised more people don't get hurt during carnival.
I'm in total agreement with Dave- given some of the incredibly stupid things I saw during Carnival, I'm surprised that more people don't get hurt. The EMTs and safety supervisors do a good job, but it seems like many of the groups are willing to take huge risks for a relatively small pay off. And like everyone else said, the article provided almost no information. Glad to see that our news sources are serving us well.
I am not surprised. Despite that there is no useful information or anything of true value in this article, I am still quite skeptical on the safety of Carnival in general. Even in just watching booths being set up in the parking lot from a distance, I was a little fearful for my safety even then. If everyone could have seen the wobbly structures being hauled around by so many people...I just can't imagine the communication is very effective in a situation like that. I guess it is fortunate that she was not seriously injured.

Eh, she was fine. I'm pretty sure it was a stupid human trick that caused this. This wasn't the only one..
OSHA will not be involved because Midway is not a workplace; booth is built by members of social and academic organizations, it's not a job.
