Blue Man lawsuit doesn't deter shows from audience antics

chicagotribune.com: "When the fourth wall -- the imaginary one that separates the audience from performers -- is broken down, great things can happen. Or litigation."

I saw Tony and Tina's Wedding a few years ago not knowing what the expectation was. I think that assuming the audience has some idea of what they're watching and what they're supposed to expect can sometimes get them into trouble though like Second City commented, street credit is valuable. What gets me is this Srodon guy is still really sueing them.

I really can not image that a lawsuit would really effect the audience antics part of their show. For one if in any show there is audience participation then there is a possiblity of something happening. Things happen within the control of the actors and outside of their control. The audience should be wary of anything at that point.

that lawsuit wasn't intended to "warn and protect". the guy wanted a quick cash settlement.

anyone involved in theatre is probably not too worried about the outcome of this lawsuit.

"So far, the suit hasn't scared producers into altering their show. Nor has it scared off other Chicago-area theaters that include audience participation in their performances."

that pretty much says it all
