Zimbabwe: a grim scene of food shortages, human rights violations and the tragic exodus of over four million people. At least that’s how it looks in the American media. This summer, the artists of Dramatic Adventure Theatre traveled to Zimbabwe to get the real story. In countrywide workshops providing acting and playwriting skills, DAT empowered Zimbabwean kids to tell things the way they see them – in poems, monologues, stories and plays. Now DAT brings those stories to the United States in VOICES FROM ZIMBABWE, playing this weekend at Bricolage Theater.
