What an almost ironic occurence: the age-old censorship problem flipped so that the king must instead struggle against his subjects for artistic freedom. Granted this involves censorship for reasons completely unrelated to content, however it's still a matter of an artist defending his vision to the public. And I agree with Havel that scandal and negative publicity, even if it does bring in audience members, are never the reasons an artist wants his work to be popular.
