I've actually been rather surprised since coming here, my impression from what I'd read and hear was that Pittsburgh was a much bigger city. In some ways, it's been nice that it isn't as large and intimidating as I was afraid, but it also doesn't seem to be quite as busy and intense as I was expecting. Then again, most of my impression of the city is based on either places I can walk to from the university and my first day here, in a rental car. Perhaps wider exploration would prove me completely wrong.
Coming to Pittsburgh has never been anything but a good time throughout my life. I would agree that college in Pittsburgh is going to provide a lot of enjoyable experiences and opportunities. However, it also depends on which of the 88 neighborhoods you go to... Some are great and some leave you in fear for your safety. I notice that in cities, you can quickly find yourself into an "unpleasant" neighborhood quicker than you think. So college in Pittsburgh provides you a chance to have more options and thus a greater experience. From what I've seen, I would like college in Pittsburgh...
