Production Manager/Technical Director

Indiana University Northwest (IUN), Department of Performing Arts seeks a highly qualified person to serve as Production Manager and Technical Director for Tamarack Theatre, a 600 seat proscenium house with a traditional fly system. This 12-month position will provide comprehensive oversight of the department’s backstage theatre activities and resources including supervision of the Theatre Northwest schedule and budget, scene shop work crews and activities, practicum students and records, supervising/mentoring student designers and technicians, and design and maintenance of the department’s website. The faculty duties for this position include teaching three sections per academic year in areas related to stagecraft and/or stage management. Scene design assignments qualify as a course load.

Qualifications: MA of MFA in theatre art is required and a minimum of 3 years scene shop experience, preferably in a leadership role. Ability to use design and drafting software such as AutoCad and VectorWorks is a plus. In addition to highly developed technical skills, interested candidates should possess strong mentoring and communication skills, and the desire to work closely with faculty to create an exciting and challenging learning environment. A background check is required.
